can a spoon contain itself? initially i didn't understand the question properly nor your solution...and tried to tell you that in the drawings curves are going to be tighter as per the length of spoon handle shown when folded...
but after few hours same question popped up and so the solution and I jumped at the solution, so the question was can the container contain itself?
and then I understood the answer, exploring other possible ways to explain it...but drawing you made in section of spoon seemed the best possible answer...
but this kind of answer explains what makes a spoon...and kind of containing it does...though question is larger and can be enhanced in scale, like can a house live in itself or can a shirt wear itself and so on...
we can break it down further...like I had an initial recall of turtle when I saw spoon diagram...i.e. a turtle image formed by its shell...even when functionally it wont be operating without a head and legs...
that is how an idea operates it has a central image and rest all the functions get added, but they are not integral to image...this is how may be we can separate, what makes what...

(quite aptly put: Can the container contain itself, was the original question)
